About me and my therapy practice

I recognise that as humans we all suffer distress from time to time. If you are experiencing difficult times or are feeling stuck with something then I can provide you with a safe environment to explore what may be affecting your life. I work as an integrative therapist, meaning I will use more than one counselling approach to inform and enhance our work together. I firmly feel that a meaningful relationship built on trust is the cornerstone of any successful partnership, as it can be challenging to overcome obstacles in a relationship without it.

Before I began my counselling journey, I worked in various roles where I have been face-to-face with people from all backgrounds and walks of life. I also have provided voluntary support to victims of domestic abuse through Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid. In addition to this, I am currently training as a child counsellor. I believe that I can bring some of the insight and learning from my experience of helping other people and my own life experiences to my counselling practice.

I understand that it can be daunting talking to a stranger. I will listen empathetically without judgment and I can work with whatever you feel comfortable bringing to therapy. I will help you to notice things you might not be aware of and help you to identify any obstacles keeping you from living your life to the fullest. The simple act of just talking and being heard can be so powerful. My experience of working with people has led me to the belief that change is possible even in the most depressingly hopeless circumstances.

My goal is to offer holistic therapy and empower my clients with the confidence to be able to recognise their strengths, develop self-awareness, and gain a sense of control over their lives.

I provide a holistic approach to mindfulness-based treatments to help you become more self-aware and compassionate, which will allow you to communicate more authentically with others.

Practice description

My practice is based at The Meridian Centre in Birmingham. My office is up one flight of stairs. 

I provide a free introductory 10–15-minute phone consultation so you can have the opportunity to ask any questions and decide whether we could work together. This gives us both a feel of how we might be able to work alongside one another in supporting you to reach your therapeutic goals. If you decide to proceed, we can schedule an assessment session to discuss your goals and expectations for counselling, as well as how I might assist you.

It takes courage to take the first step towards getting help, and I understand the importance of finding someone you can trust to accompany you on your journey. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or queries and I will do my best to respond to you promptly.

My first session

When you book your first appointment with me, you will be emailed a client agreement and intake form. Any questions or concerns you have can be answered during your first appointment.

Our first meeting will allow us to explore what brings you to therapy, along with your hopes and expectations of the therapeutic relationship. I aim to work with you to help you decide how you would like us to work together. 

All appointments are 50 minutes in duration.
