About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Gemma, a qualified humanistic integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP, working in person, online and over the phone. I have 6 years' experience as a helping professional, having worked as a teaching assistant before becoming a qualified counsellor.

Alongside my private practice, I continue to work in a school setting as a children's counsellor.

My therapy rooms are centrally located in Salisbury and Winton, with parking available, and offer a quiet, calm space where you can feel safe to explore your concerns.

How can I help?

Are you struggling to cope with life's ups and downs, feeling stuck or unable to move past something?

Perhaps you're feeling anxious or dissatisfied with your life or your relationships, or you're a young person trying to make sense of the world..

I'm a strong believer in the power of empathetic understanding and can offer an open, down to earth and respectful ear for you to bring whatever is holding you back.  My priority is to stay with you in your explorations and to offer support in your journey towards your truest and best self.

Practice description

My approach to counselling is Humanistic, with a particular emphasis on Carl Rogers' Person- Centred theory and elements of Transactional Analysis and Gestalt. I may sometimes also borrow from other theories where this may be of benefit.

I am autism affirming and trauma informed, regularly updating my knowledge through additional training.

I work with adults and children (11 years +).

I am fully insured, DBS checked and ICO registered (so your details will always be safely stored in accordance with data protection laws).

My first session

Sessions are 50 minutes long and priced at £55. I offer a free introductory call to answer any questions you may have and to get a brief sense of what you're looking for from therapy. This will form the initial part of the assessment; the remainder of which will be completed in our first session together through open discussion.
