About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I work with both Adults and Children from 11yrs. I'm a qualified Integrative counsellor that helps to develop emotional grounding and balance. Therapy invites the opportunity to gain clarity, deep healing and change.

I work face to face at my practice in Exeter and offer flexible online counselling to other parts of the UK.

If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed I can help you to develop and practice new strategies that will support you both in your present and future life. I offer a compassionate, supportive environment to enable you to dig a bit deeper and understand how your thoughts can be shifted to serve you in more positive and transformative ways, helping you to move forward and move towards the life you want.

The counselling I offer integrates a combination of approaches that can be used to support your individual needs. For example:

Narrative therapy can be used to gently challenge you to look at your past with a new lens and encourage you to re- write some of the stories that you may have developed and carried through your life, that may be hurting you or holding you back.

Transactional Analysis can help you improve your relationship with yourself and the people in your life. This theory supports the understanding of your behaviour through different ego states and provides you with opportunities to improve the ways in which you communicate.

I also offer lived experience to support individuals with cultural concerns,  identity and racism. I can help you explore  suppressed negative impacts of racial trauma that may be blocked or hidden from your present awareness. Working collaboratively, I can support a safe and gentle release of stuck emotions and help you to free yourself from past experiences, that may be holding you back or impacting your self.

My approach is holistic and person centred form of counselling and psychotherapy and I use intuitive observations of the present moment and a gentle exploration of your past experiences.

Practice description

I am a qualified counsellor for both working with Adults of all ages and young people aged 11-18yrs. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (Bacp).

I believe that you are the expert of your life and my aim is to work with you in a collaborative way that enables and guides you to create a safe path towards your own solutions and a more hopeful future.

My practice offers a safe and confidential environment both online and face to face in Exeter that can support you to make sustainable changes in your life. I use a range of interventions, that include CBT, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt therapy, Narrative therapy, Family systems and Genograms, Attachment therapy, Existential therapy and creative therapy. I believe that often there isn't just one therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations. Every client I see is different and therefore a combination of interventions are used to enable a holistic approach.

I have experience in a working with clients facing a range of issues that are impacting their lives and their ability to live fully. Some of the areas I have worked with are: Anxiety including Social anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Abuse, Racism, Trauma, and Grief.

I have also completed further training in Safeguarding children, Managing disclosures safely and Domestic violence.
