About me and my therapy practice

I'm a BACP Accredited Counsellor and a Clinical Hypnotherapist with over 12 years experience in helping people to get their lives back on track. I've seen people achieve some amazing changes in that time. Change is absolutely possible with the right help. It doesn't have to be difficult or take ages but it does require your commitment, discipline and effort. Of course, I can't guarantee change, that would be unethical, but I can guarantee that I'll be working as hard as I can, and I assume that you will too.

I use the very best therapeutic approaches and latest developments in neuroscience to help me tailor an approach to suit you. I don't believe in a 'one-size fits all' type of therapy. I believe that each person is a unique individual and as such requires a personalised approach.

Also, as a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, all my clients have the added advantage of receiving a FREE relaxation self-hypnosis download. Should you choose to, this is designed to be used at bedtime to help with relaxation and improve your quality of sleep. We all know that we cope so much better when we've had a good night's sleep.

I'm committed to my continuing professional development and am constantly updating my skills and knowledge.

My practice is located in Plympton, Plymouth and there is plenty of free on-road parking.

About me and my therapy practice

As a qualified supervisor with over 15 years of clinical experience, my aim is to support you in all your supervision needs. If you’re looking for a supervisor who is supportive, encouraging and gently challenging, I’d love to hear from you.

Practice description

I qualified as an integrative counsellor in 2008 and have run a successful private practice working with adults in Plymouth ever since. I gained registered accredited status with the BACP for my counselling practice in 2015. I also qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist that same year and subsequently gained accredited status with the NCH (National Council for Hypnotherapy) in 2021. I was awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Professional Development in Mental Health in 2021 and I gained my Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision in 2022.

As well as working in private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in GP practices, and provided counselling for health insurance companies and local businesses in Plymouth. I’m a published author, having co-written and co-edited the book ‘The Art of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy: A Collection of Case Studies’. I’m also published in a peer-reviewed scholarly journal for a review of the research into the effectiveness of hypnotherapy for irritable bowel syndrome. I am also a visiting lecturer on the Foundation Course in Solution Focused Therapy at the University of Plymouth.
