About me and my therapy practice

Do you have a sense of unease and or difficulty pinpointing the issue? Are your relationships proving difficult, or do you find yourself suffering from feelings of anxiety and depression, which is affecting your day-to-day life?

Finding a therapist can be daunting, you may be tentatively taking the first step toward finding the right person to help you approach issues that are causing you unease. Maybe you look calm on the outside but have a constant feeling of anxiety within or you appear happy to others but have a sadness you carry around.

I am a trauma-informed therapist and have worked with people with stress, worry, anxiety and depression, difficulty with their childhood, and relationship issues.

I work eclectically but mainly in a humanistic approach, meaning, I will be led by whatever you wish to explore in our sessions together. Together we can help you uncover unhelpful beliefs and coping strategies that have or are causing you difficulties in your life.

Working eclectically means I can utilize other various more directive approaches should I feel they are needed, and, you, the client, are happy to do so.

Practice description

I run a small practice in Rayleigh and Southend-on-Sea. The rooms have been specially designed for client comfort, and are very tranquil and calming.

I work between the two establishments and can be flexible with appointment times.

My first session

In our first session together, my aim is tentitively explore some issues that may be affecting you, whilst relationally getting to know each other, as I feel it is important for you as a client to feel comfortable with your therapist, and whilst we have our initial session we will explore what you would like to achieve from your therapy, and ways we could work towards achieveing that.

I like to check in regularly with you every six weeks to see if we are making progress and if you feel therapy is of benefit. I'll carry out some general housekeeping paperwork ensuring that you the client have a full understanding of the working therapeutic relationship and what to expect.

We will also look at the frequency of sessions and explore any issues that may hinder attending therapy, so I can discuss other options that may be suitable.
