London W6
Sessions from £55.00

Features

  • Flexible hours available

Availability

I have availablility on Thursdays and Fridays for weekly and fortnightly online clients. Please see my website for more specific availability and any planned time off.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer you a safe space that allows you a moment to put down what you have been carrying. By observing thoughts and feelings together, we can explore what has brought you to counselling, how this has come about, and how you would like things to be different.

Working with me will be warm, genuine, and collaborative. I have experience in a number of different areas including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, trauma and abuse, disability and chronic health issues, and difficulties with food/body image. I have a particular interest in how our relationship with ourselves can affect other parts of our life.

My Background

I have experience in a number of different areas including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, trauma and abuse, neurodiversity, disability and chronic health issues, and difficulties with food/body image. I have a particular interest in self-esteem and how our relationship with ourselves can affect other parts of our life.

I completed my training in person-centred and psychodynamic counselling. As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert on yourself, not me. As a psychodynamic counsellor, I am curious about how past experiences can shape the present. I also draw on existential therapy, which holds the human experience at its core.

Before training as a counsellor, I worked for 10 years in the higher education and charity sectors, helping people of many different identities, backgrounds, and experiences. I have also held voluntary positions as a Childline Counsellor, student mentor, and therapeutic horseback riding assistant.

I believe that we are all different and that there is no single approach that suits everyone. I therefore work from an integrative perspective, and always keep an open mind towards anything you may bring.

Practice description

Talking to someone about what we're going through can be intimidating, especially when we feel overwhelmed. Often, we try to push our feelings away and do everything we can to feel better on our own. Except when we keep things to ourselves, it can feel like they grow and grow.

Counselling gives you the space to pause and stop these problems from getting bigger. Looking at our hopes and fears isn't easy, but by working together, I can help you shoulder that burden and find a better understanding of what you're facing.

As we notice the thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations that come up for you, we can explore how things might be different. By putting words to your experience, it can become easier to see solutions. Rather than tell you what to do, I will support you to consider what is going on and find your own way forward. I will meet you where you are at, and I offer my acceptance, empathy, and curiosity to do this.

Counselling can vary in duration depending on what we are focusing on. In our work, we will review what and how we are doing regularly to make sure you are getting what you need from sessions

My first session

Choosing the right counsellor is a really personal decision, and it's important to find someone who is a good fit for you. In the same way you might get along with some people more than others, you might want to meet with more than one counsellor before making a decision.

I offer a free introductory meeting up to 15 minutes long. This is a chance to ask any questions you may have and to decide if counselling and working with me is right for you. You can share what has brought you to counselling, what needs and hopes you might be bringing, and get a feel for how we might work together.

There is no obligation to return. If you feel you don't click with me, I will do my best to point you in the direction of help that is better suited. If we agree to work together, we can arrange to meet weekly or fortnightly for 50 minutes by video call or telephone.
