About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome! I work with adults and young people over the age of 11 on a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns including trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, OCD and attachment difficulties. Clients who are diagnosed or believe they may have ADHD or Autism are a big part of my caseload, as are those who may have been described as gifted.
Counselling and psychotherapy offer a unique opportunity to support your journey towards wellbeing in a safe and confidential space, away from the usual responsibilities and distractions of life.
Having time just for you to explore your feelings, thoughts and experiences can empower you to find your own unique path towards healing and growth based on your values, strengths and what is important to you.
My clients report growing confidence and self esteem, as well as a marked reduction in anxiety and depressive symptoms as our sessions progress.
The relationship we build together is key to facilitating this. I offer an empathic, warm, respectful and non-judgmental relationship in which I invite you to share your concerns at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you. I am down to earth, easy to talk to and clients say they feel very calm and safe when working with me.
Wherever you find yourself on your journey I am here to walk alongside you, listen and support you as you find your way towards improved mental health.
I am a fully insured BACP registered therapist with a 1st Class honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Prior to studying at degree level I completed 2 years of counselling training which I applied to two decades of work in the community with children, young people, families and older adults where I supported people with a wide range of challenges.
I have also been a trainer in confidence and self esteem; a writer on health, mental health and personal development topics and a maternal mental health advocate.
Alongside private work, I also work as a counsellor in secondary schools and colleges.
