About me and my therapy practice

My name is Diane Vincent, and I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor based in Hackney, London.

I hold an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling from CPPD Counselling School and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Before and throughout my training as a therapist, I worked in the creative industries. This gave me a strong understanding of the pressures that often come with working in the field, from uncertainty and burnout to questions of identity, purpose, and self-expression. These insights continue to shape my work and help me connect with clients from creative and non-traditional backgrounds.

In addition, I worked in the charity sector as a mental health support worker and with vulnerable groups during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since 2023, I’ve also been part of the harm reduction team at a music festival, offering support to individuals navigating altered states of consciousness.

As a native French speaker, I offer therapy in both English and French, which can provide additional comfort for French-speaking clients.

Practice description

My approach is grounded in humanistic principles and psychodynamic theories, complemented by techniques from CBT, existential, and transpersonal therapy to support clients with a range of emotional and psychological challenges.

Humanistic therapy focuses on growth, self-awareness, and healing in the present moment, offering a non-judgemental, empathetic space to explore experiences and strengthen a sense of self.

Psychodynamic therapy examines how past experiences, particularly early life, influence current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, bringing unconscious patterns into awareness to support lasting insight and change.

In addition, I draw on CBT to address unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns, existential therapy to explore meaning, purpose, and life transitions, and transpersonal therapy to support deeper spiritual aspects of self.

This integrative approach allows for a flexible and tailored path, addressing both immediate challenges and deeper long-term growth, helping clients build insight, resilience, and meaningful change.
