About me and my therapy practice

About me

I’m Gemma, an integrative counsellor based in Stourbridge. I work with adults who feel out of place, disconnected, or like they’re going through the motions without really enjoying life. You might describe it as not feeling comfortable in your own skin, or wondering where you belong.

Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to you. I draw on talking therapy, creative approaches, and where it’s helpful, a Christian perspective. We’ll work at your pace, focusing on what matters to you right now.

How I work

As an integrative counsellor, I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. In our sessions we might use conversation, reflection, creative exercises, or explore faith-related questions — depending on what feels right for you. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can make sense of what’s going on and find ways forward that fit you.

Areas I work with

- Adults who are neurodivergent or exploring neurodiversity

- People who have had previous therapy experiences that didn’t feel helpful

- Stress, anxiety, and fear that are affecting daily life

- Faith and mental health, for those who want to explore this together

Practical details

I offer affordable sessions with some flexibility around timing.

Getting started

If you’d like to see if we’re a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute phone call with no obligation. This gives us a chance to talk briefly about what you’re looking for and ask any questions you have.

You can find more information on my website www.kaleidoscopecounselling.co.uk, or get in touch here to arrange a call.

Practice description

" I aim to create an environment where you, the client, are in the driving seat and feel seen, heard, and in control. My priority is to always offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood. My professional and lived experiences can help you to feel more comfortable in your own skin, developing positive thoughts about yourself and an acceptance of who you are and to realise your own potential.

You can develop strategies to manage strong and deep emotions such as sadness, anger, and feelings of despondency. I can support you in managing anxiety and fear, and exploring difficult relationships, helping you feel less overwhelmed.

I have experience of delivering lots of creative ways within the counselling room to help you explore these emotions in a safe way. Creative counselling does not mean being artistic; it means being willing to explore together different ways of listening to your own body. I am able to offer sand tray and stone tray work, mindfulness and imagery work, and other forms of creative outlets to support working through your emotions.

For more details and pictures, please visit my website or give me a call.

My qualifications are as follows:

A Level 5 in Counselling.

A Diploma in Mindfulness, and a Degree in Theology."

My first session

"I know that for some clients, counselling can be very daunting as you are meeting a new person for the first time. I aim to make the first session (and every session) as relaxed  as possible, and a time to get to know each other. I will invite you to ask questions and explain my commitment to you as a counsellor."
