About me and my therapy practice
Hello! I’m Sam..
A warm, empathic, BACP-registered counsellor offering face-to-face sessions in Helston, Pool, and Constantine — and online sessions available for anyone, anywhere.
I have a particular passion for supporting people navigating menopause, fibromyalgia, and neurodivergence. Having walked this path myself, I understand how profoundly these experiences can shape life — emotionally, physically, and relationally. The exhaustion, pain, sensory challenges, and shifting sense of identity can feel isolating and often misunderstood. I know how deeply they affect your wellbeing, your relationships, and your sense of self. In my space, you won’t have to justify what you’re going through — you’ll be met with understanding, validation, and support from the moment you arrive. For 20 years, I’ve been creating space where people can reset and reconnect with themselves.
My approach is Person-Centred at heart — I believe you know yourself best. I’ll walk alongside you with empathy, honesty, and respect, supporting you to explore your thoughts and emotions in a way that feels safe and empowering. I hold a deep belief that we all have the inner resources to make meaningful changes and reconnect with who we really are.
I’m also passionate about the mind–body connection: how our emotions live in the body, shape our relationships, and influence our sense of self. I offer a gentle, creative space to explore identity, self-worth, and the ways we relate to others.
Alongside my lived experience, I have extensive professional experience supporting people through addiction and domestic abuse, and I bring a calm, grounding presence to every session.
If you feel drawn to my practice, please get in touch — we can have a chat and see whether I’m the right fit for you.

Practice description
I take a flexible, person-centred approach, tailoring our work to your individual needs. When we begin our journey together, we’ll first explore whether weekly or fortnightly sessions feel most supportive for you. You will be met with compassion rather than pressure, supported at a pace that feels right for you. Your boundaries will always be respected as we navigate difficult emotions and experiences together.
Our work is relational and collaborative. You remain at the centre of your healing process, while I am here to listen, support, and guide you as you explore, grow, build resilience, and move toward lasting change.
I work face to face in dedicated counselling rooms at a wellbeing centre in Pool, where free parking is available.
Online sessions are also available via Google Meet or Zoom, depending on your preference. Having a private, quiet space at home can make it easier to feel comfortable and allow meaningful therapeutic work to unfold.
I also provide face-to-face appointments in Helston and Constantine—please get in touch if you’d like more information about these locations.
My first session
I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation—a relaxed and informal meeting where you can share a little about what you’re looking for, get a sense of whether I’m the right therapist for you, and allow me to consider whether my skills and experience are a good fit for your needs.
Your first full session focuses on getting to know you and understanding what has brought you to therapy. It’s a space to talk through your concerns, clarify your goals, and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship in a safe and supportive environment.
During this session, we’ll gently explore your background, current challenges, and any emotional or psychological difficulties you’re facing. By the end, we’ll have a clearer sense of what you hope to achieve and begin outlining the steps that can support your healing journey.
Establishing trust and a sense of safety is essential for the work we will do together.
All sessions after this will last 60 minutes.
