About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Elvira González Rubio, a humanistic and integrative counsellor specialising in complex trauma.
My therapeutic approach is warm, trauma-informed and draws on somatic therapy and attachment-based work to help you find safety, clarity, and inner grounding.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a foreign language teacher, and later in Switzerland, I supported very young autistic children using Verbal Behaviour therapy. These experiences taught me patience, attunement, and a profound respect for the many different ways people communicate and make sense of their world.
Originally from Spain, having lived in Switzerland, and now settled in Corsham, Wiltshire, I bring an international and culturally aware perspective that enriches my therapeutic work. I also offer sessions in both English and Spanish, allowing clients to express themselves in the language that feels most natural and emotionally authentic.
Many people come to therapy carrying the weight of trauma, emotional overwhelm, or simply the impact of life’s pressures, demands, and moments of unfairness. I offer a grounded, compassionate space where you feel deeply supported and genuinely understood.
