About me and my therapy practice
My approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and respect for your individual pace. I aim to offer a supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences safely.
Together, we can begin to untangle the specific difficulties you are facing, gaining insight into unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour that may have developed over time and how they continue to affect you in the present.
I believe everyone has the capacity for growth and healing. My role is to sit alongside you with care and professionalism, helping you uncover your strengths, build resilience, and move toward meaningful and positive change. Through understanding and collaboration, we can work toward alleviating emotional distress and finding a way forward that feels right for you.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, confidential and supportive space for adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure of their next steps. Many of the people I work with are managing anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties or significant life changes. Others come because they feel disconnected from themselves or are struggling with self-confidence and self-worth.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting. My role is to provide a space where you can relax, speak honestly and feel truly understood. Nothing you bring will shock me, and you will not be judged here. We will work at a pace that feels right for you — there is no pressure to rush or be anything other than yourself.
Clients often come to me when they want to understand themselves more deeply, break unhelpful patterns, or make sense of experiences that feel confusing or painful. Together, we create a space where openness is encouraged and where you can begin to feel more confident in who you are.
At the heart of my practice is a belief that you are not broken — and that, with the right support, you can recognise that you are enough. My aim is to offer a steady, compassionate presence as you move towards greater clarity, self-trust and emotional resilience.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, explore what has brought you to therapy and consider whether we feel like a good fit to work together. I understand that starting counselling can feel nerve-wracking, so there is no expectation for you to share everything at once. We will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
During this session, I will ask some gentle questions about your current difficulties, relevant background information and what you hope to gain from therapy. This helps me understand your needs and ensures that I am the right person to support you. You are also welcome to ask any questions about how I work.
The first session is charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions. Before your first session I will send a copy of my contract via email for you to read over, if there are any questions we can discuss them at our first session.
By the end of the session, we can reflect on how it felt and decide together on next steps. There is no pressure to commit, it is important that you feel comfortable and confident in your choice.
