About me and my therapy practice
I am a person-centred counsellor offering a warm, non-judgemental space where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace. I believe that with the right therapeutic relationship, individuals are able to reconnect with their own strengths, insight, and capacity for change.
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, emotional overwhelm, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and relational, supporting clients to feel heard, understood, and accepted, often for the first time.
Alongside my counselling practice, I have experience working within complex care, which has given me a strong understanding of safeguarding, accessibility, and working sensitively with individuals who may have additional needs or disabilities. Because of this, I aim to make therapy as accessible as possible.
I offer counselling online, by telephone, and through home visits where appropriate. I am based in Leeds, and home sessions are available locally, with limited travel to surrounding areas. This can be particularly helpful for clients with mobility difficulties, health conditions, or circumstances that make attending a traditional therapy setting challenging.
I work ethically in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, placing confidentiality, boundaries, and client autonomy at the heart of my practice. Sessions are led by the client, with no pressure to talk about anything before they feel ready.
Practice description
I offer person-centred counselling for adults in a calm, supportive, and confidential setting. Sessions provide a space where you can talk openly about whatever is important to you, at your own pace, without judgement or pressure.
Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and are led by you. You do not need to have a clear “problem” to begin — some clients come with specific concerns, while others arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start. We will work together to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that feels manageable and safe.
My first session
Your first counselling session will take place online, using a secure video platform. Once your appointment is booked, you will be sent clear joining instructions so you know exactly how to access the session. You don’t need to download anything complicated, and you can join from a place where you feel comfortable and have privacy.
The first session lasts 50 minutes and is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. There is no expectation for you to share anything you are not ready to talk about. We will go at your pace.
During this session, I will:
• Explain how counselling works and answer any questions you may have
• Talk through confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Invite you to share what has brought you to counselling, if you wish
You do not need to prepare anything in advance. Many clients worry about knowing what to say — this is completely normal. The session is led by you, and support is offered in a calm, non-judgemental way.
If online counselling feels new or unfamiliar, this can be discussed during the session. We can take time to ensure you feel comfortable with the format before continuing.
