About me and my therapy practice

Dr Lin Lin Ginzberg (she/her)

I am a qualified BACP registered Counsellor based in central Bristol.

My aim is to offer a safe, holding space for you to bring yourself, as you are.

We can work together to explore where your past and present intertwine. I bring my curiosity and compassion into the space and hope to help foster a healing curiosity for yourself.

With a PhD in Neuroscience, I have a strong scientific foundation and an understanding of the unique challenges of academia. I also worked for many years producing television documentaries, so I also have insight into the creative industries.

I have grown up across various continents (a so called "third-culture kid") and with different cultures.

In addition to English, I am also fluent in French and Italian, should you feel more comfortable using either of these languages.

My core training is in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling

(BACP and UKCP accredited course, Re-Vision)

❋ Integrative

Integrative means I have trained in more than one style of counselling – Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Jungian, Creative – and can choose to lean into whichever style best suits you at the time.

❋ Transpersonal

Transpersonal means I am open to the more-than-individual dimension – something soulful – whatever that may mean for you. I believe this can look very different for different people; for example, you may be curious about science or feel a connection to nature.

I have worked for four years with Womankind, an established mental health charity also delivering psychodynamic counselling services. Psychodynamic therapy explores how current difficulties you are having may be rooted in past experiences.

At times, for some of us, words are not enough, and I find that dreams, imagination and creativity (such as metaphor, drawing, music or writing) can bring a rich perspective to the work.

The quality of the therapeutic relationship is crucial. Therefore, the first step would be to have an initial session together, to see if we might be a good fit.
