About me and my therapy practice

My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, meaning I offer a warm, non-judgemental and supportive space where you are accepted as you are. I believe that with the right therapeutic conditions — empathy, honesty and respect — people can better understand themselves, make sense of their experiences, and move towards meaningful change at their own pace.

Alongside this, I work pluralistically, which means I recognise that there is no single “right” way to do counselling. We are all different, and what helps one person may not help another. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we can talk openly about what feels helpful for you, what you would like from our work together, and how we might best approach your difficulties.

This may involve exploring thoughts, feelings, patterns, or past experiences, as well as gently introducing different ways of working if and when they feel appropriate. I will always work with your preferences, checking in regularly and adapting our sessions to support you in a way that feels safe, respectful and meaningful.

Practice description

I offer online counselling in a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly about whatever is affecting you. People come to counselling for many reasons, including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, or feeling stuck or overwhelmed. You do not need to have a clear “reason” — sometimes it is simply about needing space to be heard.

My practice is grounded in a person-centred approach, where I aim to meet you with empathy, acceptance and respect. I believe that feeling understood and not judged is central to meaningful therapeutic change. Alongside this, I work pluralistically, recognising that different people need different things from counselling. We can talk together about what you are hoping for, what has helped or not helped before, and shape our work in a way that feels right for you.

Sessions are led by your needs and pace. I work collaboratively, checking in regularly to ensure that the counselling feels helpful and supportive for you.

You can expect me to be reliable, boundaried and ethically grounded, working in line with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ethical standards. Above all, I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, supportive and tailored to you.

My first session

I offer a free 20–30 minute initial online session. This gives you a chance to meet me, ask any questions, and get a sense of how counselling with me might feel. We will talk briefly about what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping for, and I will explain how I work. There is no obligation to continue — the focus is on helping you decide whether I am the right therapist for you.
