About me and my therapy practice
I work with adults, children and young people, drawing on an extensive background in education, school counselling and my experience with Childline.
These roles have given me a deep understanding of the emotional worlds of children and young people, and of how important it is for them to feel listened to, understood and taken seriously.
I know that for parents, trusting someone to support your child can feel like a big step, and I aim to offer a calm, safe and supportive space where young people can talk at their own pace.
I also work with adults, offering a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore life’s challenges, including relationships, stress, self-esteem and change. I work in a person-centred way with clients of all ages, adapting my approach to suit each individual’s needs and stage of development.
Practice description
You might be here because something feels heavy right now, or because you want to understand yourself in a deeper way. Maybe you’ve been the one who holds it all together for everyone else, and you’re wondering if it’s OK to ask for support for yourself, too.
It is.
In my counselling room, you’re welcome just as you are, even if you don’t have the right words yet. This is a space where you don’t have to pretend or filter what you say. Here, all your feelings and emotions are invited: your confusion, your hope, your worry, your relief.
As a person centred counsellor I believe you know yourself best.
Sessions move at your pace, and there is no pressure to have the “right words” or to talk about anything before you feel ready. My role is to walk alongside you, with warmth, curiosity, and respect. Together, we can make sense of what you’re carrying and find ways to move forward that feel right for you.
Whether you are an adult facing life’s challenges, or a parent seeking support for your child or young person, I aim to provide a safe and steady space where difficulties can be explored with care and compassion.
I work in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire in a comfortable space in the town centre. I also offer online sessions.
