About me and my therapy practice

You are unique and you are the expert of your own life experiences. But things don’t always go to plan, and you have found yourself in need of some help. This is where I come in.

I offer individual and partner therapy from my practice rooms in Bricket Wood, St. Albans as well online and telephone counselling.

My aim is to provide the right therapy for your specific needs in a safe space where you can explore without judgement or prejudice. My practice is pluralistic which means I adapt our sessions to best suit you, and utilise a combination of philosophies including humanistic, CBT, psychodynamic and existentialism to help you achieve your therapy goals.

I am a COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) accredited counsellor and supervisor and a certified member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Previously I have worked at Woodbridge Therapy, St Albans Sexual Health Clinic (on behalf of LCC) and at St Albans SPECTRUM addiction centre.

In addition to my private practice, I am a teacher at the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (CICS), Letchworth and have previously taught humanistic counselling at Barnet College, London.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors.

I work with supervisees who practice general therapy and supervisees who specialise in psychosexual and relationship counselling.

My approach to supervision mirrors my approach to working with clients in that I operate from a pluralistic standpoint, adapting the sessions to the needs of the therapist. This ensures we focus on what you need at any given time, rather than being constrained by one theoretical approach. It also means I work with each supervisee in a way that best suits their personality, priorities and level of experience.

Practice description

My structure for our sessions is built around the seven-eyed model (Hawkins and Shohet). By appropriately and gently holding this as the framework for our work, we can explore all aspects of your experience working with clients, whilst considering the context in which the work is taking place.

Supervision is very much a two-way learning relationship, and it is important that you feel comfortable with our dynamic. We are colleagues working together to do what is best for our clients and our profession.
