About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited integrative counsellor currently working online.
I value being human and what it takes to be able to do that. Sometimes that's really hard, and life can seem bleak, difficult or just completely jumbled. I can offer a safe space to start to work things out and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. I value kindness, humility, difference and individuality.
I'm not here to fix but I am here to be along side, find a way forward, find the person you wish to be. I'm not afraid of overwhelm, or stuckness nor to look into fear and the darker side of life.
What I can do is give you a safe space to work it all out. I don't have the answers but together we will find a way forward.
Practice description
I'm a BACP accredited counsellor and am integrative trained, meaning I'm trained in a number of therapeutic approaches. For individual clients, I draw on the approach which is most appropriate to the presenting issue.
I am passionate about the therapeutic relationship, this is key to my therapeutic practice.
I am empathic, kind, non judgemental and above all supportive.
I am particularly experienced in working with people and their loved ones living with a chronic health condition, approaching end of life and bereavement counselling. I currently work for a Cancer Charity delivering one to one and group support and have many years experience in this area of support.
Living in an uncertain world can bring great stress and anxiety, also having a direct impact on relationships. I have worked extensively with these areas of distress.
We can work short term, solution / goal focused or longer term.
Whatever brings you to look for a counsellor, lets take the step together and start the therapeutic process.
My first session
We can have initial contact via a phone call, where you can feel if I'm the right counsellor for you. Its important to find someone you're able to be open and honest with. I will also be able to answer any questions.
In our first session, I will get to know you, gain some life history and discuss what brings you to counselling - what your hopes are for counselling.
We will also have a discussion regarding our contracting agreement for therapy.
