About me and my therapy practice
Therapy is a dynamic process that is proven to work best when it is co-created (between therapist and client) in the presence of genuine warmth, open mindedness, listening and understanding.
I see each person as totally unique and so acknowledge that we all need different things at different times in our lives. There is no one size fits all model.
There are so many different theories and approaches to therapy - as a pluralistic practitioner - I work with several of them and we tailor make the work to best suit you and meet you where you are. We will go at your pace, approaching your challenges in ways that work for you. We can regularly review what is working and how we continue to get the most out of our sessions together.
My job is not to tell you what to talk about, or try to make any decisions for you. I will however ask the kinds of questions that help you to untangle the complex things that maybe holding you back or causing you pain.
I bring a wide range of knowledge and experience that we can draw on together to help unlock some of your own powerful internal resources to bring about long lasting and effective change.
For some clients working with creative methods can take the pressure off trying to find the exact words for their experience or painful feeling. As Carl Yung said “Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain”. I have specialised training working with creative methods and exercises to help unlock some of those mysteries. These might include working with sand tray, poetry, music and journals.
I have over ten years experience working in the field of substance misuse and also work as a therapist in a residential rehab clinic. My passion is working with clients to help them overcome issues of addiction whether that be to drugs, alcohol, food, relationships, sex, gambling, porn, technology, exercise, or any other cross addictions that may arise.

Practice description
I warmly welcome people of all backgrounds into my inclusive practice.
I offer adults therapy online.
My first session
I offer a fifteen minute, no-obligation phone or video chat free of charge. We'll book a time to talk and I'll do my best to answer any initial questions you have.
You can expect to meet a genuine and warm person who makes great efforts to listen and not assume or guess your experience and problems. I believe that the process of therapy will unfold when a trusting relationship has been established in a safe and confidential space.
