About me and my therapy practice
I’m an Accredited BACP Counsellor.
I provide a professional and confidential counselling service for adult clients.
My aim is to meet you in an authentic way that encourages genuine dialogue which leads us to areas of difficulty.
Since 2012, I have worked as a counsellor in a range of settings: schools, with pupils and staff, a college of further education with young adults, children's services with parents, and within an adult IAPT service.
My core training is Humanistic therapy, however, I have additional training in CBT, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness interventions. I also use/offer psycho-education, and creative interventions to support therapeutic goals.
I work from an integrative perspective, which means drawing on a range of ideas from a number of theorists. I work with the individual, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Therefore, tailoring the therapeutic intervention which is most helpful and healing is integral to my therapeutic rationale, to promote self-awareness, self-growth and psychological well-being.
My first session
Our initial meeting is to determine our suitability to work together, looking at your therapeutic goals.
I use a written assessment at our first meeting, taking a brief history and exploring your therapeutic needs.
We will also discuss confidentiality, GDPR, fees, cancellation policy, etc. I provide my clients with a written Counselling Agreement, for their information.
