About me and my therapy practice

I am an Accredited Member of BACP offering counselling on line and in person for individuals in Glasgow.

You may have a lack of confidence or be overwhelmed in dealing with your life at the moment. You may be struggling with difficult thoughts or feelings. You may feel that there is nowhere to turn. Problems happen to us all, at any time in our lives. When you feel this way it can be difficult to ask for what you need, you are anxious, or you feel you are always feeling guilty or apologising for something. You may feel that your self-esteem or self-confidence has taken a battering. Counselling may help.

My clients tell me that they often felt stuck and were unsure how to move forward but realised something had to change.

Valuing yourself and challenging your anxiety

You feel that you always have to please others. Your life feels out of balance, you feel you are always being judged or living up to the expectations of others. Counselling can help to help you to be compassionate to yourself and address your own needs.

Building your self-esteem to cope with life events

Understanding how we feel about ourself helps us to cope with a range of difficult life events we struggle with. Life events such as: bullying, relationship problems, bereavement, stress or feeling unable to cope cause us anxiety and stress. We struggle to move forward and to know what to do so we can accept it and move forward. Many clients have come to know how effective talking therapy as they unpack positive and negative experiences.

Counselling offers you the chance to find a way through your problems and overcome them. Working with me, we will look at practical coping strategies and the changes that you want to make.

Yet, I recognise it can be daunting to choose a counsellor for the first time so please feel free to call or email to ask for more detail with your questions, all welcome, without obligation.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer counselling supervision that aims to be collaborative and offers space to reflect on your work and your therapy. I offer the opportunity for you to reflect on personal and professional issues that are influencing your practice. There is space to explore feelings that are difficult, uncomfortable or when we are just unsure of what is going on. Sometimes that will be about sharing experience, exploring the work with a client or exploring theory, yet most of the time it will be about helping you develop your therapy with clients. Ultimately, the intention is to help you to grow as a therapist.

My own background is working in a variety of organisations, including the NHS, Higher education and charities before setting up my own private counselling practice. I see both long term and time limited clients from a variety of referral sources. There is a wide range of presentations, both individuals and couples, and the reward and challenge is in helping them to discover themselves again.

I see supervisees at my home on the south side of Glasgow offering day and evening appointments by agreement. There are good public transport links and plenty of car parking. I welcome prospective supervisees having a free exploratory first session.

I am also happy to take counselling students. There are concessions available for students who are in training.
