About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a wide range of experience working in NHS settings and also for a number of Charities delivering counselling for a wide range of issues and life difficulties.
I am additionally qualified to work with children and young people, which enhances my work with adults experiencing family relationship difficulties.
My view of counselling is that it creates a safe space to resolve and heal from life's inevitable stresses and challenging, often painful times.
When we are faced with difficult life experiences and situations it can often be hard to see how we will cope or even that there is a way through. We frequently feel stuck in our thoughts and feelings. Counselling provides a space to gain perspective and a better understanding of our ourselves and he situation we are in or facing. This is turn means we can begin to move forward again with hope and confidence.
In addition to counselling, as a qualified Yoga Teacher, I can introduce Mindfulness, Breathing techniques and Relaxation methods which are all helpful in reducing stress and helping us to think more clearly about our problems.
Practice description
I use a comfortable counselling room in The Kirkbymoorside Natural Health Centre, and also at Community Counselling in Norton Malton, which is close to the train station and Coastliner bus station.
The Malton room has wheelchair access.
I am currently offering phone/video counselling sessions on a flexible basis.
