I have availability for clients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I offer one hour sessions in the mornings, afternoons and evenings on these days.
About me and my therapy practice
At the moment due to the pandemic I am not doing any of my voluntary counselling for a local charity. I have therefore decided to offer six free online sessions to two NHS workers. I will need proof of NHS employment. If you or anyone you know would be eligible and would like to take up this offer please get in touch via this website or the contact page on my website www.lbcounselling.org.uk.
Sometimes life gets too difficult to deal with on our own and we need someone we can trust to share our feelings with, help us find hope and the strength to move on. I can help you understand your feelings, and find your way.
As a counsellor I have worked with many different issues. I also have experience of working with people from different cultural backgrounds, ethnicities and walks of life. I do not judge people and treat everyone with the same openness and welcoming attitude. I strongly believe in equality across all genders, races and ethnicities.
I work with people one to one on a long-term basis or short term. I have experience of both and understand that both can be effective.
My training is in a relational approach to therapy and I use mainly person centered skills and techniques.
Wherever I work I always strive to provide a safe and confidential space for my clients where they can feel comfortable and relax as much as possible.
My work centres on helping people be who they really are, discover what is important to them and acknowledge their feelings.
If you are interested in working with me we can have an initial meeting to discuss working together and make sure we both feel comfortable with each other. Please email, text or phone to make arrangements.

My first session
The first session with a client is primarily to get to know each other and see if we feel we can work together. We will explore what counselling is and how the process works. Also the clients expectations and the issues that they want to work on. It is important that we both feel we can be in a therapeutic relationship with each other. We will discuss the Therapeutic Contract and set the boundaries for working together. The plan for future sessions and their frequency will also be discussed. It is important to have a clear way forward.
