About me and my therapy practice
I have experience working with adults and young people experiencing anxiety, trauma, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, difficulties in living, life situations, and mental health difficulties.
My role is to create a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space where you are able to talk and express your feelings, thoughts, and your difficulties in living. I believe that such a space, within the therapeutic relationship, allows you to explore deeper into your experiences and reflect on your life and relationships.
As a counselor trained in the person-centered model, I am deeply influenced by the core conditions of congruence, empathy, and unconditional positive regard in building a genuine therapeutic relationship with my clients.
My training in existential thinking allows me to work with existential concerns of anxiety, isolation, loneliness, freedom, choice, responsibility, and meaning or meaninglessness that we all experience within our lives.
As we explore your inner world together, reflecting on and clarifying your situation, new ways of living and relating to the world around emerge creating new possibilities.
My approach is non-judgemental and non-directive. I do not give you advice, instead, I listen and provide a supportive environment where you can find your own answers.
My first session
I offer a free initial session, where we can explore what brings you to therapy and what your hopes and expectations are from therapy.
A first session is an opportunity to find out if we are a good fit for each other. It is a good opportunity to ask any questions you have about the process, and for me to find out a little about what brings you to therapy at this point in time.
If we both feel that we can work together, a day and time will be agreed upon for your counseling sessions, usually on the same day of the week and time for 50 minutes sessions.
