About me and my therapy practice

Maybe there is a specific event you are aware of, or thoughts & feelings are overwhelming you for no known reason. Perhaps you've not been feeling yourself or maybe something has always been missing.

Whatever the circumstances we can explore the feelings, thoughts and relational patterns that have been causing you distress. I can support you to gain a deeper understanding of the effects of your past experiences and how these may impact your struggles in the present.

My counselling style is more about encouraging self-acceptance as a good enough person than searching for perfection. It is about finding self-compassion and quietening the inner critic for those who feel blocked by parts that hold fear, sadness, anxiety, doubt or overwhelm.

Through gentle exploration, together we can gain a deeper understanding of who you are, bringing compassion to the relationship you have with yourself & transforming your relationship with others.

I tailor our work to meet your individual needs, progressing at a pace that suits you giving you time to build trust in me and the process. I will work alongside you to reach any goals you may have and help you on the road to greater emotional wellbeing.

Practice description

Offering counselling support and psychotherapy to individual adults on a wide range of issues, I provide a therapeutic space filled with warmth & compassion where you will be listened to & truly heard maybe for the first time.

Building a relationship of trust between us is important to me. You will find me relatable, easy to talk to & relaxed, as well as practical, supportive & straightforward. I take my work seriously but believe humour & laughter are also important. Encouraging you with gentle curiosity, & a holistic mind-body approach.

I integrate various approaches including Internal Family Systems (Level 2 qualified), mindfulness and yogic breathwork, EFT (Level 3 qualified), Polyvagal theory, Attachment theory, Gabor Mate's Compassionate Inquiry and Unwinding Anxiety - Dr Jud Brewer.

No matter what your reasons for seeking help, this is a courageous first step & I would appreciate the opportunity to work with you on overcoming life’s many challenges.

My first session

I offer a no-obligation first session at which I can learn a little about what has led you to seek counselling, you can of course ask any questions you need to and then we decide together if I am the right counsellor for you.
