About me and my therapy practice
Maybe there has been a specific event you are aware of, or maybe thoughts and feelings are overwhelming you for no known reason. Whatever the circumstances I offer you a therapeutic environment filled with warmth and empathy where together, we will explore the feelings, thoughts and relational patterns that have been causing you distress. I will support you to gain a deeper understanding of the effects of your past experiences and how these may impact your struggles in the present. Through a holistic mind-body approach I will help you connect with your innate ability to heal, develop skills to reduce your negative symptoms, uncover your own natural resilience and live a full and authentic life.
My counselling style is more about encouraging self-acceptance as a good enough person than searching for perfection. It is about finding self-compassion and quietening the inner critic for those who feel blocked by fear, sadness, anxiety, overwhelm, doubt or any other emotion.
I tailor our work to meet your individual needs, progressing at a pace that suits you giving you time to build trust in me and the process. I will work alongside you to reach any goals you may have and help you on the road to greater emotional wellbeing.
I am a grounded and approachable person who you will find relatable, easy to talk to and relaxed. No matter what your reasons for seeking help now, this is a courageous first step and I would appreciate the opportunity to work with you on overcoming life’s many challenges.
Offering counselling support to individuals on a wide range of issues. Sessions can be face to face from The Estuary Clinic in Topsham, via the telephone or online.
I am available daytimes and some evenings but not weekends.
My first session
I offer a no-obligation first session at which I can learn a little about what has led you to seek counselling, you can of course ask any questions you need to and then we decide together if I am the right counsellor for you.
We can do this first session as a phone call or a 30 minute session face to face or online .
