About me and my therapy practice
My name is Ali Kosiner and I am a Child and Adolescent psychotherapist. I specialise in working with young people aged 11 to 18 and have a professional background in school refusal.
My role is to work with my client to help them make sense of difficult feelings. During adolescence there are a lot of changes both internally and externally and these can be hard to understand. It can be a confusing time for any young person; it can feel difficult to share or open up even if this is something they feel they want to do. As a therapist I provide a safe space to think and reflect; I am there to listen and explore whatever comes into the room. Over time this can become a valuable and meaningful space which can help to facilitate changes in the way they think and act towards themselves and to those around them.
After a meeting with a parent (s) or care giver I would meet the young person for an initial assessment in order to understand if I am the right practitioner for them. If we decide to move forwards, then a weekly session of 50 minutes will be allocated at the same time each week. I offer face to face therapy in the form of a mid to long term intervention depending on the needs of the client.
My first session
An initial assessment is an important first step in the journey. It allows me to gain some understanding of the presenting problem and the world around the young person. Following this, contact will be made with the parent or care giver to discuss next steps.
Initial assessment £65
Therapy sessions £85
