About me and my therapy practice

I work in a supportive, calm, and open minded way. I find it helpful to be curious about your emotions, helping you to understand and recognise them more. I am a neurodiversity affirming therapist.

I draw on various psychological theories to suit each individual, we are all so different after all, and I believe it is the relationships between us all that facilitate healing.

Often it is helpful to talk to someone outside of our family and friend circles, so that we can have more perspective on our experiences.

Practice description

I am easy to talk to. I work with adolescents and adults. I offer short term to long term work. Sessions are usually weekly although if you are wanting flexible or less regular sessions then I can do this online.

I work in an integrative way which means that I draw on various psychological theories depending on what you or your teenager are experiencing. A big focus of mine is the therapist-client relationship because research shows that this is important when it comes to getting more mentally healthy.

My first session

A first session will involve a few questions about what you are coming to therapy about. This is so that I can learn more about you and the context of your life. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions, and to see if you feel we are a good fit for therapeutic work. It's important you are comfortable with your therapist.

First sessions are 50 minutes long, as are ongoing sessions.

I offer a short free call or video call if requested. Get in touch to arrange this.

About me and my therapy practice

I am easy to talk to and offer a calm, collaborative space to explore what's currently going on for you. I am a neurodiversity affirming therapist.

I draw on various psychological theories to suit each individual, we are all so different after all, and I believe it is the relationships between us all that facilitate healing.

Studies show that a strong therapist-client relationship is more important than the therapist’s modality when it comes to the success of the work. This type of therapy is called integrative-relational.

Practice description

I offer both short and long term therapy (short being around 12 sessions and long term anywhere beyond that, as agreed between us) for adults and teenagers (11+). Sessions occur once a week on the same day; there may be flexibility here though.

My first session

Our first session will be 50 minutes long which is the length of regular sessions.

This session will involve me asking questions to understand more about you and your life at the moment. I will ask you about what you want from therapy. We will speak about what has been impacting you emotionally recently and begin working through it.

By talking about things we will hopefully help you feel more grounded and more like yourself. It can be really helpful to talk to someone that isn't family or a friend. It helps us gain perspective.
