About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Sarah and I'm a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
Difficult feelings such as anxiety, anger and sadness can be hard to manage alone. I offer a warm, empathetic space for you to share your thoughts and feelings, and to feel heard.
My style is integrative and I combine different ways of thinking about difficulties but what unites them is my relational focus. Developing a trusting therapeutic relationship is central to you feeling safe in exploring what's bringing you to therapy and this is where we begin. From here we can explore what's troubling you and develop a greater self-awareness that can inform your life choices moving forward.
I have experience of offering mental health and well-being provision within organisations and applying a systemic lens to these.
I have significant experience of working with issues related to women's health including fertility and sexual issues, IVF, abortion, perinatal mental health, birth trauma and miscarriage.
Prior to qualifying as a therapist I had a career in the communications industry and understand the significant impact of work related stress.
I look forward to speaking with you.
Practice description
I offer both short and long term therapy. You may want to come for a short, limited time with a specific concern or for more open-ended therapy.
I currently offer both online (Zoom) and in person sessions based in Bayswater and Brixton.
My first session
The first step is an initial telephone call, which lasts around 15 minutes and which is free of charge. This is for me to gather a little more information about your concerns.
Following this we can arrange the first session which is for 50 minutes, as are all further sessions. It's an opportunity for us to explore in greater depth what's bring you to therapy now. It is also an opportunity for you ask any questions you may have and to get a feeling for my style of work.
There is no obligation to continue after this session but if we both feel we can work well together we will agree an initial series of sessions, normally 10 sessions with a review in the second half.
