About me and my therapy practice
Overwhelm can take many forms and affect us in various aspects of our lives at any given time. You might feel that you are doing well with parts of your life and struggling with others, or you might feel generally down. When we are going through a difficult time, it can be hard to reach out to friends and family, so talking to a professional can help.
Whether you are feeling sad, depressed, anxious, stressed, going through life transitions, difficulties in your relationships, experiencing issues in the present or struggling to deal with the effects of past trauma, I am here to help you. Sometimes, it can also be difficult for people to pinpoint what the actual issue is and they just don’t feel right, with no real insight into what would need to happen or change in order to feel better and that is absolutely fine as our work together will be based around growing your self-awareness, untangling your thoughts, feelings and emotions and exploring any underlying causes to see things more clearly and get a better understanding of what is happening for you. The insight gained from greater self-awareness can often alleviate emotional suffering, improve relationships, and lead to long-lasting, positive change.
** PLEASE NOTE: for any enquiries or introductory call requests, please contact me directly through my website contact page (www.peartreecounselling.co.uk) or email at aniece@peartreecounselling.co.uk as BACP enquiry system does not always reach me
Practice description
I have experience working with young adults to seniors in settings such as colleges and wellbeing centres and welcome enquiries from people of any gender, ethnicity, or background.
The therapeutic model I practice is predominantly Person-Centred, although I also integrate CBT techniques as and when needed. I strongly value your individuality as nobody knows you better than you do and I am here to provide you with the support to build on your strength and resilience at a pace that feels good for you.
I work from the The Hill Counselling Practice, with free car parking available nearby.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call for us to get to know each other. I will ask some questions about yourself to get a picture of what’s happening for you and will answer any questions you may have to ensure that I am the right therapist to help you.
I will give a general outline of what our therapy will look like and explain fully about privacy and confidentiality.
