About me and my therapy practice
How I work
My approach is to place you the client at the centre of counselling which enables me to understand how you see yourself and the world around you. I will not make judgments but recognise the way in which you perceive it. I provide a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can talk about distressing or stressful events or situations.
Experience has taught me that there are many reasons why people come for counselling, sometimes there are specific issues which a person wants to address, or perhaps you are struggling to come to terms with things that have happened in your past, or are you at a crossroads, unsure of the next step?
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
I have particular experience in:-
Anger, anxiety, bereavement, co-dependency, depression, divorce, relationship and family difficulties, low self-esteem, feeling stuck, loss, substance misuse, stress, well-being.
Finding the right therapist is important. For this reason I offer a free first session which is an assessment, not a counselling session and lasts around half an hour. This will give you the opportunity to ask me any questions and see whether you feel comfortable working with me.
