About me and my therapy practice
Personal Details and Background Information:
Married with 3 Children, I have run my own successful businesses with my husband for over 30 years, employing in excess of 100 people. During this time I have acquired excellent inter-personal skills and also qualified as a Law Society Mediator. I trained initially as a Counsellor, and later went on to achieve a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I began my career working for 5+ years in NHS Primary Care GP surgeries, and during that time received acknowledgement as the highest achieving therapist in my team, for both my successful client clinical outcomes and positive patient feedback. I set up my private practice over 5 years ago and particularly wanted to be able to offer therapy to young adolescents aged from 14 upwards.
I later developed my clinical expertise and went on to offer couples counselling and family therapy. Today most of my client work comes from personal recommendation and referrals from previous clients.

Clinical Experience and Specialisms:
Working since 2007, I began my clinical experience in a Refuge for victims of domestic violence, and later as a counsellor for a large school in Sevenoaks, treating young adolescents for anxiety and depression. I later took up a full time post with the NHS in an IAPT Compliant Team specialising in a diverse range of client issues, primarily using CBT and Person Centred models for all major anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, health & social anxiety, OCD, GAD, phobias, body dysmorphia and eating disorders. I have particular extensive experience working with PTSD, depression using behavioural activation, humanistic counselling for grief, low self-esteem and relationship issues and CBT techniques for young adolescents.
After gaining my initial qualifications, I have over 5 years of experience and training with the NHS working within an IAPT Compliant Psychological Therapy Team. Specialising in CBT for anxiety disorders and phobias, and particular expertise working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I also have extensive experience working as an humanistic counsellor covering a wide range of complex mental health difficulties.
