Availability

I see clients during the day and evening on Wednesdays and on Thursdays during the day. I offer face to face sessions as well as online counselling and I am happy to discuss what suits you best.

I try to contact clients soon after they make an enquiry so that we can talk about what you are looking for from counselling and how we might work together.

If you decide to work with me then I will send you information about what happens next. This includes arrangements for meeting together along with my Terms and Conditions and Data Protection and Privacy Policy.

Like most counsellors, I offer 50 minute sessions. I also offer a limited number of spaces for those on low income or for students and am happy to discuss the availability of these.

About me and my therapy practice

I'm a fully trained and experienced Integrative Counsellor. The main approach I use is person centred but I offer other approaches as well to help you get what you want from counselling.

These may include psycho education to help you understand what is happening; strategies to help you cope if you are feeling overwhelmed and creative ways to help you explore your situation.

Our therapeutic relationship is very important and is built on trust, respect and honesty. I listen, encouraging your curiosity and compassion as well as gently challenging the way you relate to others and experience situations. I am empathetic and genuine, accepting you are as you are without judging.

I have experience of empowering a wide range of clients in difficult relationships or situations to make changes in their lives. This includes clients dealing with long term illness, loss and grief as well survivors of domestic violence. I've also worked with people who want to explore their feelings or look at how their spirituality and beliefs are having an impact in their lives.

I know that it takes courage to make a change and having someone walking alongside us can be invaluable. My own experiences in life have shown me that we can't control everything. But when a bereavement or significant illness happens, counselling can help us live with uncertainty, recognise our inner strength and begin to heal.

I can help you accept what has happened whilst also supporting you to make the changes you want to make.

I understand that life can sometimes be difficult and we may feel overwhelmed or unsure what to do next. But I'm hopeful that things can get better and I believe with the right support everyone has the potential to flourish again.

I offer you the chance to look at your struggles in a safe, confidential and collaborative way.

Practice description

I'm an Accredited Counsellor within the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work within their Ethical Framework and I have demonstrated my commitment to high standards which safeguard you as a client.

My Private Practice is in Witney and I work with adults on a one to one basis. This can be either face to face or online counselling.

Counselling isn’t about giving you solutions or advice but empowering you to make your own changes. It's about sharing your journey and helping you find your voice.

In our sessions, I am interested in you as an individual in your own unique situation. I try to be anti-discriminatory in all the work we do together and within our therapeutic relationship I am curious about your experience of life.

We will meet weekly, especially at the beginning when we are building our therapeutic relationship. Depending how you want to work with me, we may meet over a period of 6 -18 weeks or over a number of months.

We’ll review the counselling progress regularly to make sure it is meeting your needs. We'll talk about what's working and what we may want to change. You may also decide to change the focus as new insights and understanding arise.

You can decide to end our counselling at any point but some final closing sessions are recommended so we can complete our work and finish well.

My clients tell me I've made a difference in many of their lives.

My first session

At our first session we will discuss your needs, the support you have and what you want to get from counselling.

This will include talking about:

-how we will work together and our focus

-confidentiality and risk of harm

We will agree our therapeutic contract and an initial number of sessions.

You can ask any questions and tell me what brings you to counselling now.

If you are interested in one of the reduced rate spaces for those on low income or for students then we will agree what you would pay for counselling.

This session is 50 minutes and will be the same price as your other counselling sessions.
