About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified, trauma informed counsellor and mindfulness meditation teacher. I work with trauma, including PTSD, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence; with mild to moderate mental health issues like anger, anxiety, depression, and stress.
I offer confidential counselling to individuals over the age of 18.
Effective counselling and mindfulness can help us lead a fuller life with increased self-awareness. With this growing awareness, we have the potential to identify patterns of behaviour, make different choices and create a more purposeful and satisfying way of being.
Effectiveness comes from developing a safe therapeutic relationship where we can work together to explore feelings, thoughts and behaviours; to untangle difficult, challenging issues. We may explore the origins of emotions such as shame or guilt manifest in the present day. By understanding the origins of these emotions we can learn to meet them with self-compassion and treat ourselves with the care we deserve.
I will work with you, to identify behaviours and issues that are causing distress and then support you to explore their origins. i will support you to identify the thoughts and emotions behind these issues.
My first session
I offer an initial free session to see if we are comfortable with each other. This first session is about gathering information and establishing how we will work together.
