About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor and work in a person centred way. I specialise in addiction, though I also see clients for various other issues and work collaboratively to explore what is behind their anxiety, depression and to build self esteem. I provide a safe non-judgemental space to allow clients to talk about any current challenges they are facing and also to look back on their life to identify patterns of relating and ways of being in the world. I believe this holding experience to be at the heart of change and overcoming difficulties.
I work with addiction in a multitude of ways and have in-depth experience of 12 step recovery programmes. I have worked in a male prison with The Forward Trust, an organisation working towards change within the prison system for people struggling with addiction. I have also seen clients through the NHS at a Women's Centre providing short term therapy.
Taking the first step is often not easy. I am happy to have an initial chat on the phone to see whether you feel we can work together. I hope to help you move forward with more awareness of yourself and explore your choices to feel happier and derive meaning in your life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I studied at Regents University where I gained the Certificate, followed by a Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have run numerous groups centred around addiction and trauma and specialise in this field.
