About me and my therapy practice
Are you worried about your teen or nearly teenage child? Do you feel you are struggling to understand them and wondering how best to support them? Parenting is one of the most important jobs any of us will ever do, but, despite libraries full of books on the subject, you don't feel prepared now that your child is entering adolescence and becoming a teenager. There's so much information and support available when our children are small. Still, it can feel like you're entering a world of unknowns when they hit their adolescence (the pre-teen (tween) and teenage years).
I can help you build a happy, healthy relationship with your tweens and teenage children. You'll learn practical coping strategies to help and support your tween or teen. We will talk about setting clear boundaries, communicating openly and honestly, and taking care of yourself. You'll learn how to help them manage their stress, anxiety, and mental health. You'll be able to support them when they struggle with adolescence's big emotions.
Being a parent to your child when they hit the teen yearstruggle with adolescence's big emotions. Feel optimistic about yourself and confident in your parenting.

Practice description
Empower Hour - Single Session Therapy
One session will empower you to get moving through a particular issue you may be having.
During the session, we will:
- Agree on a focus to work together on
- Have an end-of-session goal
- Focus on your strengths
- Help you identify resources around you
- Identify your choices and options
- Identify what has worked and what hasn’t in the past
- Work out your next steps
Finally, we will have a brief follow-up call 3-4 weeks later to check in to see how you’re doing.
You may feel that this one step was all you needed to resolve the issue, or you may have now identified that more sessions might be valuable to you. We can agree on this together and work out a plan if required.
This won’t solve all your problems instantly, but it will help you determine the next step toward your goal.
What’s unique about this?
This is a laser-focused, troubleshooting, problem-busting consultation session.
