About me and my therapy practice
I offer creative, compassionate, mind-body trauma-informed counselling tailored to your specific therapeutic needs and ways of working. As a qualified pluralistic counsellor, I bring 16 years previous professional experience as a mind-body therapist and workshop facilitator.
With my creative background and in-depth Eastern and Western knowledge of working with physical, mental, emotional and spiritual problems I offer holistic, comprehensive and mind-body approaches to personal growth and healing.
I bring 20 years of mindful, spiritual practice to offer a calming and supportive therapeutic presence with a non judgmental safe space for developing trust and relational depth in the most vulnerable.

Currently I have been offering counselling online and via telephone during the pandemic inline with government and BACP guidelines. It is now possible to offer face to face counselling but some clients have found great benefit in being able to access counselling from the comfort and familiarity of home without the need to travel.
The choice is open for you to decide how you would like your counselling service to work. My therapy room is in my home in a small village 4 miles north of Monifieth in Angus. I live ina a peaceful, natural location that many clients enjoy as part of their therapeutic process. We will discuss all of your options at our initial contact, either by email, telephone or in person.
An initial assessment is carried out to see if we are a good fit and how I can help you best achieve your goals for therapy. At this point we will discuss and agree on the length and terms of our working relationship which will be confirmed in a working contract. This will be open to continual review and agreed change if necessary to suit your best needs.
A counselling session is 50 minutes long and costs £40
Your initial assessment is free and will be approximately 20-30 mins by telephone or in person
Each consequent counselling session is 50 minutes
Duration of Therapy will be agreed together at assessment but is open to continual reassessment by consensual agreement
My first session
Our first session together we will explore ways of working that are suited to your preference and personality. We can begin to build a picture of what has brought you to counselling and how I can best help you.
Part of this process involves setting out a personalised counselling map which may include specific issues you would like to work on for e.g, understanding your anxiety, finding new coping mechanisms, looking at childhood patterns that might be negatively affecting current relationships, understanding C-PTSD symptoms or working through bereavement and grief.
We will decide together from a menu of ways of working which approaches you might find most helpful.
Prior to our first session you will have received a copy of our counselling contract and agreement outlining the agreed length of therapy, fees and therapeutic boundaries. This will need to be signed before our work together begins.
Your requirement is to arrive at the agreed time. It takes courage to take the first step into the counselling relationship. I understand that discussing painful issues can be uncomfortable and difficult at times and I will help you to feel supported, accepted and safe. The process can also be joyful and fun.
The counselling journey is one we take together with shared decision making, collaboration and mutual agreement. You will be offered choice in how to learn and grow and develop your therapeutic in the therapeutic relationship together.
