About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced couples and individual counsellor working in Belfast. My initial training was in the person-centred approach to counselling. My specialist training in couples counselling was carried out in London and focussed on two additional approaches - psychodynamic and systemic.
For the past 15 years I have provided a small private counselling service working face-to-face with couples and individuals in North Belfast. More recently, with the dangers of transmission of Covid 19, I have transferred my work online for the foreseeable future.
I have a background in further and higher education, community education and anti-discrimination disability training and reserarch.
My first session
The initial assessment process begins online. Potential clients can request sight of my agreement/contract and if they chose to, they complete the attached brief questionnaire about their circumstances - this allows me to make an, initial assessment about whether I am qualified, experienced and competent to offer my service. If the client/s and I are in agreement and want to continue, the first online or face-to-face session is set up at a mutually convenient time. All sessions last 60 minutes and the fee is £50.00
