I understand that every client is different. I work from a psychodynamic approach and while looking at what your presenting issues are, is based on making links to past experiences which can help us to understand why we behave or react as we do.

Memories or feelings from the past can resurface. Maybe it is time to take the next step, where I can listen and give you the time to explore your mental health issues in a safe and confidential space, without being judged. The therapeutic relationship is very important and takes place in an environment with firm boundaries.

I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor with several years' experience of working with adults, from 18-78+, on a one to one basis. I tend to work open ended to allow each person to work at their own pace and this does require a commitment to weekly sessions. The duration of therapy can be spoken about together and reviewed regularly.

I am training in Jungian Analytical Psychotherapy with the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy. This type of therapy can help when working with deeper issues including relationship difficulties, longstanding depression, problems with identity and personality disorders. This is when it can be helpful to attend twice or three times weekly sessions over a longer period.

Fees

Individual Therapy: £60 for 50 minutes

Some concessions may be available for people on low income or attending more than once weekly. This can be discussed at our first meeting.

I like to meet for an initial 50 minute consultation to assess what has brought you to therapy, to get some understanding of your hopes and expectations, and for us both to decide whether we would like to work together. I do charge £60 for this meeting.
