About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychotherapist of more than 25 years and have worked with thousands of people globally - in a range of settings including hospitals, community centres, prisons, schools, health centres, hospices, retirement homes, refugee centres, women centres and private practice.
I am also a clinical supervisor, coach and trainer.
I have written and co-written a number of handbooks on the Development of Counselling Services, Early Intervention Service Development, BAME services, Refugee Mental Health Services, Regional Health Needs Analyses and Addiction Services, and Clinical Service Plans.
As a public sector consultant of 20 years, I have also worked to develop policy and practice nationally and internationally.
I am interested in working with everyone who comes my way as well as having special interests in anxiety, grief and bereavement, PTSD work, OCD, addiction, working with older teens and couple counselling as I have developed particular approaches and courses .
I adapt my approach to meet the needs of people who come to see me. My approaches include Analytical, Transpersonal, CBT and Eriksonian Hypnotherapy. I have a special interest in Philosophy and use this in my work where it may help especially with existential related issues. I am also a pragmatist and take a very practical approach to my work. I encourage my clients to work hard with me so we can together evoke change fast and to this end I will set homework and reading.
I offer one-off sessions for specific issues and short and long term therapy.
