Availability as of 4th April 2022 is 9pm, Mon-Wed; 7, 8 or 9pm Fri; anytime on Saturdays & Sunday mornings. Weekday evening sessions are currently only available by phone or video link. In person sessions, when I need to rent a room, may incur additional charges.
About me and my therapy practice
You are at the centre of any work we will do. Whatever is troubling you or causing you anxiety or depression can be discussed, so that you can learn how to cope and make positive changes in your life. I will not tell you what to do. I will guide you in your thoughts and feelings to find the way that works for you.
I believe counselling is a 2-way relationship. It is effective when we can be honest and real, without feeling judged. No one can completely understand your personal circumstances, however, I will use my natural and trained skills to engage with you so that you feel heard and can begin to understand how you can make positive changes in your life. You hold the key to unlocking the door to change, and I will help you to find the key or even the right door. By talking out loud and verbalising your worries & fears, it will help you to understand why you're at this place in your life so that you can find your way through.
I have supported and worked with people affected by cancer for 16 years and for the last 3 years have also volunteered with a bereavement counselling charity. Within that time people have not only addressed the issues that brought them to the services, but also the multitude of other issues that happened before cancer or a death.
I'm a British born American & have also lived in Asia and Africa. Stresses of life can be overwhelming and cause further discord in our daily lives. I will offer you my unconditional attention with warmth and caring to enable you to feel empowered, heard and understood. You are important and I would value the opportunity to work with you.
My first session
I offer an initial free 15 minute telephone consultation. This will give you the chance to determine if you would like to work with me.
