About me and my therapy practice

I offer an empathic and confidential space where your emotions, behaviours, and patterns of relating will be safely explored together. We are a meaning making species, and I endeavour to support you to make sense of your experience so that you can heal, recover and flourish in life. Therapy doesn't have to be all about spending time in the past, or focusing on your negative experiences. I want to connect with you, and help you acheive whatever solutions you're looking for during our sessions so that you can get the most from the work we do together.

I can offer you some tools and strategies for living that will help uncover your limiting beliefs, identify areas of stuckness, patterns of relating and help you reconnect with your authentic self.

Our true need is to be seen, heard and uniquely expressed. During my 10 year career as a therapist, I have guided many people to find recovery and meaning in their lives, whilst working in the NHS and charity sector.

Practice description

Working with individuals on a weekly basis, is most effective for the therapeutic change process. I provide weekly 50 minute sessions.

Lets face it, attending therapy can be hard work. Sometimes, people need more guidance than others. Whether you are struggling to know what to say, or struggling to know what to filter out, I will guide you by asking questions and gently enquiring into your experience. Therapy is about making sense of our internal worlds, so that we can be more self aware and develop meaningful connections to our outer worlds.

Therapy is set at your pace, working on the areas you choose to focus on. It is a commitment, a commitment to future you, who knows that you can learn to feel and live in a healthier way. 

My first session

Our first interaction, usually will be a brief telephone call. This call is to see if we are a good fit. I will answer any questions you may have, and I will tell you a little bit about how I work. This is not a therapy session, it's an opportunity to see if we could develop an effective working relationship. I appreciate the anxiety you may have, especially if you are new to therapy. If after this free 15 minute phone consultation you wish to continue, we would book a time and date for our first session. The first session is an opportunity for us to determine what you would like to get out of therapy, so setting some goals can be useful. This is usually an assessment session, so I would ask more questions initially to determine our focus and formulate a treatment plan.

Our initial appointment will be for 90 minutes, so we can explore your concerns and formulate a plan together. These sessions are charged at £85.

Through rewriting your old scripts and connecting with your authentic self. If there's still a part of you resisting, lets use it and invite all the parts in on the conversation. Those limiting beliefs are holding you back, but they can be reframed.

Living in this cycle of anxiety is tiring, the reassurance seeking and avoidance can be really consuming. Through exploring this, we can slow the pace down and start using it as a resource. Together, we can find solutions to build your confidence, improve relationships, and reach your true potential.
