About me and my therapy practice
I am a humanistic Integrative therapist. I divide my time between London and Islamabad. The way I work depends on your needs as a client. I have experience of working with all ages from 18 to 80 plus.
My background is in Social Anthropology and Psychology, which informs my therapeutic practice, in understanding my clients’ world views and their belief systems. Culture, language, family, society and religion play a part in how we see ourselves.
I have also spent 15 years working as a tutor and mentor with neurodiverse children and adults. After which I went on to support literacy and life skills for unaccompanied refugee minors and young adults.
I see the therapeutic process as a journey that we take together as client and therapist.
I am a full member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Therefore I am bound and adhere to their ethical framework and code of conduct.
Being an integrative therapist means that I use the following modalities in my work depending on my clients’ needs, these include the following as well as comprehesive list in the section below:
Person Centred
Psychodynamic
CBT
Clients I have worked with have wanted to address the following:
Anxiety
Depression
Post natal depression
Menopause
Cultural identity
Relationships: parent/ child/ siblings/ couples
Trauma
Exam stress
Work stress
Neurodiversity such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism.
Practice description
Although the majority of my work is in English, I am fluent in Urdu, Hindi and French.

My first session
It usually takes one or two sessions to go through the assessment process to get a full history which includes any medical history. There is no obligation to continue after the first session, but if you do decide to continue then a commitment to at least six sessions is what I would recommend . There is no obligation to continue after the first session and, if you do decide in the middle of a block of six sessions that you do not wish to continue I would suggest that we have an 'ending' session.
