I normally work with my counselling clients from late afternoon to early evening. I am also able to offer some morning appointments if that suits you better.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer person-centred counselling as an opportunity for you to experience a warm and communicative interpersonal relationship which prioritises your healing and growth. My non-judgemental and non-directive offer of empathy, honesty and respect will, I believe, affirm who you are and allow you to take more responsibility for yourself through an acknowledgement of your strengths and abilities.
The aim of counselling is to give you time to explore personal and relational issues so that you can work towards living in a more personally satisfying and resourceful way. As the counsellor, my role is to provide you with the support that you need to help clarify and understand events that you have experienced and the challenges that you face. As a person centred counsellor, I am committed to non directive therapeutic relationships that are built on trust through empathy, honesty and respect.
Located just outside Ormskirk town centre, I work from home in a calm and comfortable room that I have set up especially for my counselling practice. If you asked me to describe my counselling practice, then I would say: private, discrete and welcoming.
I qualified as a person centred counsellor from Southport College in March 2019 and now have nearly three years post qualification experience. During those three years, as well as working with private clients at home, I have supported clients at The Bereavement Counselling Service, The Philippi Trust in Southport and The Reach Men's Centre in Liverpool. I accept all clients but am particularly committed to help men improve their mental health,
My first session
Please text or call me if you would like to arrange a first free counselling session. In that first session, let's discuss how we will work together and I will begin to listen. The first session is also an opportunity for you to judge whether I am the right counsellor for you. You are not obliged to continue after this first session but might choose to do so if you find the experience helpful.
