The sessions are 50 minutes long and these are the hours that I work.

Our sessions together will be weekly and the same time and day where possible. This ensures that you will benefit from gaining the full therapeutic experience.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome, my name is Chay and I am a fully qualified and fully insured Person-Centred counsellor. Like you, I was once searching around for a counsellor and wanted to find one who I felt safe with to share my world with. Seeing a counsellor helped me to accept and move on from my own struggles, which led me on to training and becoming a counsellor to help others with their mental health. I understand the importance of having a trusting, safe relationship, so that offloading on someone does not seem so hard. Let’s face it, life can be tough and throw many curve balls and to be able to share, understand and vent what is happening inside your head, can make it that little bit easier.
I believe that the best way to understand how my client is feeling is to put myself in their world. To understand their perception for what it is that they are expressing. To be non-judgemental, gentle, warm and empathise with their feelings and experience. I will walk alongside you and hold your world as you let yourself be vulnerable and together we can try and make sense of your experience and the emotions that arise with it.

The way that I work is non-directive, meaning that I am fully led by you and what you share with me. I will not push you to go further than you feel safe to, nor make any assumptions. I strive to provide an empathetic, non-judgmental space, so that you can feel free to share what you need to to feel lighter in your mind. I can offer creative interventions so that if you cannot find the words or describe how you are feeling, I can offer creative suggestions to help you be able to express whatever it is that you need to.
I am a LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counsellor, which means I can provide a space for you to explore your identity with empathy and without judgement. I am also in the LGBTQ+ community myself, so I hope that this can bring some comfort to you.

My first session
The counselling service that I offer is via Zoom or telephone. This means that I can work with people from all over the country, including rural areas where people struggle to meet a counsellor face to face. As long as you have a good internet connection and/or a phone signal then we will be able to work together to help you with your mental health.
I do not offer a free consultation as I find that the best way for someone to see if we can work together is by seeing how the first session feels and discuss anything at the time. That way, we have a full 50 minutes to work with.
