About me and my therapy practice

Who is counselling for? it's for everyone, you don’t need to have a major problem in your life but if you are dealing with in particular:

My clients often have anxiety as the core issue and are struggling to manage or cope with this on their own. This includes social anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder. Some clients have anxiety from using dating apps, starting fresh with someone new or ending something (e.g. relationship, job, moving etc..) and the anxiety that comes with it.

Work related stress:

My clients are going through a career change, do not like their jobs anymore or have started in a new job role and find it overwhelming or stressful. It's helpful to learn how to manage stress caused by work. If you often experience feelings of stress, you might be at risk of developing a mental health problem like depression or anxiety.

bereavement and loss: My clients can suffer a recent bereavement or be supporting a family member who is going through an illness.

or loss of a relationship and struggling to manage the emotions that can come with this. Losing someone important to us can be emotionally devastating - whether that be a partner, family member, friend or pet. It is natural to go through a range of physical and emotional processes as we gradually come to terms with the loss.

I also have experience working with: Anxiety, Depression, Domestic Abuse, Rape. Low self-esteem and more not listed.

I feel so privileged to be working with all my clients and support them on their journey, I learn from my clients just as much as they learn from me. I feel I specialise in helping people move forward, set goals, challenge themselves and become more self-aware of who they are.

Practice description

About me:

I am a firm believer in 'there is no such thing as normal' so I wanted to be honest and tell you a bit about me and what made me become a counsellor and seek my own counselling. Being a parent of a child with multiple complex mental health disorders was tiring, frustrating and lonely as I seemed to be on my own, at times I was expected to know more than the specialists. She is the reason I got into Counselling as watching someone I care deeply about from a child to an adult, feel continuously let down and judged over their mental health, just another statistic. I wanted to be that someone for them, so they did not feel alone. My own counsellor was amazing and helped me so much to cope, manage and grow as a person. It was something I will never forget.

So I decided to train to be a counsellor, to help others who are struggling with their mental health and the family members who are witnessing it, so they feel heard and understood. I am there if you need me, you are not alone. I am passionate about what I do.

I offer:

Face to face, Online and telephone sessions. If you feel ready to talk, or have a question call or email me I am happy to answer any questions you may have no matter how big or small. I offer flexible appointments including late nights and weekends to suit your needs.
