About me and my therapy practice

Hello.  I aim to create a compassionate, genuine environment in which hopeful change is possible. Much of my experience concerns clients who have experienced trauma, bereavement and other losses, as well as other difficult life experiences, and I understand how such experiences can be held in the body. You might be feeling anxious, angry, or despairing, or simply have a pervasive sense that things are not right.

Being disconnected from your own needs can lead to many difficulties: feelings of dread, anger, shame or estrangement from yourself, your body and the world.

It is rare to feel fully understood and accepted without judgement, and my aim in therapy is to foster relationships which are unique and fully human, in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and move towards being more fully yourself.

I believe you are the best authority on your own life, and I value your autonomy  as an ethical principle.

I work with adults, with ages ranging from 18 – 80s. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, sexualities and gender identifications. I do not undertake conversion therapy.

Please note at present I offer online sessions or telephone counselling.

Practice description

Working with a therapist can give you the chance to explore your thoughts and feelings from a new perspective. By doing so, it may be possible for you to find deeper understanding, acceptance and clarity, a greater trust in yourself, and a sense of physical and mental integration.

Being disconnected from your own needs and being misunderstood by others can lead to feelings of anxiety, dread, low self-esteem, anger or shame. You may feel a sense of estrangement from yourself, your body and the wider world.

My approach is built on person-centred philosophy, which affirms the unique ways people live and find meaning. I believe it is possible, within a consistent, affirming and empathetic environment, to become more fully in tune with yourself and your body, to move closer towards developing your potential, and to feel that you are living a fuller life.
