About me and my therapy practice

Addictions Specialist

Since 2001 I have been working in hospitals and organisations specialising in the treatment of addiction and behavioural disorders. I also work with depression and anxiety.

Who can I help?

I offer therapy to those suffering addictions to alcohol, sex, work, drugs, pornography.

In my experience shame and guilt are often the feelings that underpin the continued cycle of these painful  behaviours. The consequences are far reaching and so family, friends and employers may all suffer. Intense loneliness and self-loathing in the addict can then trigger the urgency to repeat the behaviour (a compulsive and destructive cycle is established). Loved ones are often devastated and dealing with their own feelings of helplessness when their attempts to understand and rescue fail. Precious relationships may fragment under the pressure.

It is important to understand that you are not alone in this devastating condition. Many persons have been where you are right now. Being gentle with yourself and asking for help is the first step forward.

Work experience.

Primary counsellor in one of the leading private behavioural hospitals in the UK; Private practice in Chelsea, London; The NHS - Based at hospitals and GP surgeries; The Criminal Justice System; Day Care Alcohol Therapeutic Programme designer and Counsellor.
