About me and my therapy practice

Whether it's the everyday challenges of life or life changing events it is possible to know that you are not alone and you can be supported in a helpful way. I appreciate that talking to someone about difficult issues can be daunting and for this reason I aim to create a non-judgemental space in collaboration with you to talk through your thoughts, feelings and emotions. I hope to help you create resilience and resourcefulness and a sense of hope to deal with whatever life throws your way. I believe that the kindness and compassion contained in the counselling approaches I use can help you explore changes you wish to make in your life and work with challenges to work towards become happier and more fulfilled.

Please email me if you would like to arrange a free 15 minute introductory phone call before making your decision.

Practice description

I am a mature counsellor and psychotherapist qualified to a high standard. I have a wealth of experience of working with people with complex needs for many years in the NHS, including people with a wide range of health conditions and disability. I work with people with mental health issues and those experiencing or who have experienced stressful and traumatic circumstances.

I can draw on years of experience as a meditation and mindfulness practitioner and if it suits you I can incorporate this into our work and personalise techniques for you.

I use integrative therapy meaning I select from a wide range of approaches. These include compassion focussed therapy, ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), person centred, relational psychodynamic, somatic and others.

My first session

The first session is a chance for you to talk about issues you wish to bring. I will go at your pace and answer any questions and concerns if you would like me to.
