About me and my therapy practice
I offer weekly counselling sessions both face to face and online in which I support people to achieve greater insight and understanding concerning the problems with which they are struggling. Counselling provides the space, freedom and support to help people examine more deeply the possible causes of current conflict and unhappiness. In psychodynamic counselling, both current and former relationships and important life events are considered, and their impact on current difficulties is discussed and evaluated.
I am an experienced counsellor with a private practice serving Winchester and area. I provide individual counselling for adults and young adults in once-weekly sessions. I am an accreditied member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), and I have a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling recognized by both the BACP and the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF). I also have a Certificate in Online Counselling Skills issued by the CPCAB, and a BPS Accredited Certificate in Clinical Supervision
My first session
During an initial assessment session I will ask about your personal history, family background and current situation, including mental and physical health issues. I will also explain in more detail what you can expect from counselling, including discussing issues of confidentiality and privacy. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about how the work will proceed.
