About me and my therapy practice
The emotional, financial and physical impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) can be challenging. During this uncertain and anxious time I am offering online video therapy to support clients with various issues including anxiety, depression, loneliness, low-mood, addictions and more.
~ Adjusting to lockdown and the new social restrictions may have left you feeling lonely, trapped or alone.
~ Uncertainty at work or changes to your job may be causing stress and disappointment.
~ Perhaps self-isolation has led you to seek comfort in alcohol, food or drugs or you find yourself excessively working or using social media.
~ Intrusive thoughts or nightmares could be disrupting your sleep.
~ Relationships with your family members, partner, friends or colleagues may be under new pressure.
It's still possible - and essential - to take care of your mental health during this difficult time. I offer a safe and confidential space to talk and listen. Due to social distancing measures I am currently offering online/virtual counselling (using Zoom, Skype and FaceTime), which means you can access support from the safety and comfort of your own home.
The most important thing to me is providing an open and non-judgemental space where you can feel free to explore whatever you need. My approach is warm, relaxed and collaborative and I use a range of modern approaches depending on your needs. Therapy can be short term or open-ended, for as long as you find it helpful.
I also have 15 years of experience working in the media industry so I have first-hand understanding of the particular demands, challenges and struggles of working in both corporate and creative settings.

My first session
It can be anxiety provoking to begin with a new therapist, especially if it’s your first experience of therapy. After all, you are meeting a complete stranger and asked to be vulnerable by sharing your thoughts and feelings. However, after a few sessions therapy can become a place where you feel safe, supported and encouraged. I have a genuine, warm and collaborative approach and I work from the heart, often with a healthy dose of humour and playfulness.
Research has shown over the past several decades that the outcome or success of therapy is about the quality of the therapeutic relationship, which is why I view a first session as an introductory session - a time for you to experience working with me and to decide if I am the right ‘fit’ for you. There is no obligation to me and even if I am not the right person to help you at this time I might be able to point you in a helpful direction.
